The music of maxiPraise, fresh and lively, with simple yet powerful lyrics, has found its way into many schools, churches and homes across Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries. With a passion for Jesus and a heart for children, Janine Max began writing songs to be used to praise Him - maxiPraise!

Janine believes that when enjoyable music carries a meaningful message of truth, that it can be memorable and impacting for a lifetime. Each recorded CD became more than just a collection of good songs, it was a journey, thematically crafted to intentionally teach the truth about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and living faith. Each one was recorded by the enthusiastic team of maxiPraise kids and then actively presented with drama and testimonies that inspired many other churches and schools to also give their children opportunities to use their gifts for God.

What is the maxiPraise team up to?

maxiPraise no longer runs a full-time ministry team. After 7 years of recording, directing a kids choir, and travelling, Janine Max enjoyed a sabbatical year! The maxiPraise kids had been able to minister in quite a few places on the East coast of Australia during their years of ministry, but it did not prove viable to tour a large team of young children over the long term. Janine is now aware that there are now many kids choirs functioning around the country who are using the maxiPraise music and involving kids in ministry. Janine is keen to continue resourcing and mentoring these, rather than continuing to run a full-time choir of her own. The maxiPraise kids remain heavily involved in their own churches and schools, still singing, praising and using the skills they learned as part of the maxiPraise team.

 
Will there be any more maxiPraise CDs?
In August 2005, Janine spent a week in the studio with producer, Peter Shurley, and keyboard artist, Josh Brown, putting together the instrumental tracks for two new CDs. These albums are still in the 'pipeline' and when completed will be released as maxiPraise albums, God-willing, in the near future! They are predominantly a compilation of new praise music for use in intergenerational services, new recordings of some old favourites, and new adult inspirational music.
 
What has Janine been up to lately?

Janine has been enjoying time with her family! She also began a unit of CPE (hospital chaplaincy) in 2005 and is completing the requirements of the course. Janine works as a registered nurse in Aged Care and has an interest in caring for residents and families facing end-of-life issues.   The areas of spiritual care and grief and loss counselling are among her interests.

Prior to the Commonwealth Games 2006 in Melbourne, Janine was asked by the SDA church to write a song to be used for their ministry at the Games. The Winning Way will soon be available as a free download, including pdf of score, on this website.

Since 2005, Janine has been co-writing with another songwriter, and together they contribute to a weblog. Janine has written many new songs in this time, but poetry is currently her major creative outlet. You can visit the blog at www.wildgrace7.blogspot.com . Janine's writing pseudonym is 'gracie'.
